Financial Advisor, Managing Partner
Strategic Capital
I help tech professionals manage their equity compensation plans.
Bobby Russell helps clients make clear decisions around investments, taxes, and legacy through disciplined planning and long-term thinking. Raised in a close-knit family that valued responsibility and financial discipline, Bobby developed an early appreciation for thoughtful money management. He earned a finance degree and began his career in financial advising in 2010 while completing his studies at Texas State University. During that time, he served as President of the McCoy College of Business Student Ambassadors, where mentors helped shape his client-first approach and professional trajectory. Today, Bobby works with executives, professional athletes, business owners, and other high earners who have outgrown “basic” financial advice. As wealth grows, so do the stakes: taxes, concentrated positions, compensation complexity, liability exposure, and the desire to protect a family’s lifestyle without losing flexibility. Bobby’s approach is built to bring structure and clarity prioritizing asset protection, tax mitigation planning, and multi-generational strategy so clients can move forward with confidence. Bobby’s comprehensive process integrates institutional-quality investments and insurance as coordinated tools within a broader plan. Rather than focusing solely on accumulation, he helps clients plan across accumulation, distribution, risk management, and legacy, aligning each decision with what matters most and stress-testing the plan for real life. Outside of the office, Bobby is committed to serving the Austin community and supports multiple local philanthropic events each year. He enjoys travel, scuba diving, sports, and just about anything outdoors. He and his wife, Madison, share life with their two golden retrievers.
